Featuring 103 cottages and suites, the Surin Phuket Hotel is an old favorite with a great location on Surin Beach. Most of the rooms are actually cottages that are modern inside while using wood to nicely fit into their surroundings on the outside. The beach out front is one of the nicest in Phuket, with a few local businesses nearby to add to the guest’s choices.
This is a family-friendly resort with a children’s pool, children’s menus in both restaurants, and babysitting services, so it might not be a top choice for honeymoon couples. Rooms are large and filled with 5-star amenities such as bathrobes and slippers. The high season rates are on the high side, reflecting the popularity of this older resort, but the low season rates can be incredible, so it’s particularly worth a look during the summer.

Reviews of the Surin Phuket Hotel are generally very positive, though the resort has its share of 4-star and even 3-star reviews, so it’s not a clean sweep like so many others in this price range. Most guests love the location, the rooms, the restaurants, and especially the quiet beach. Families find good facilities for children and plenty of room inside rooms and out.
The few complaints seem to be mixed among those who think this older resort is due for another renovation, and those who think the renovation brought the quality down. At least one couple remarked that the pool area can easily be dominated by children if there are many families staying in the area, so this might not be an ideal resort for romance.
