Sprawling and professionally run 5-star resort on a quiet beach
With 265 guest rooms, the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa is one of the larger 5-star resorts on Phuket, and it also has some of the most extensive features and options. There are nearly a dozen different restaurants and bars, including a Thai cooking school, as well as 3 pools, a large water sports center, a Kids Club, and much more.
This is also one of the few international chain hotels in Phuket, so it’s very popular with business people and those on reward trips. If you’ve been to a large chain hotel in a resort area then you’ll recognize the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa. The service is of 5-star standard, and the rooms are filled with details you won’t see at mid-priced resorts like elegant bedding and oversized soaking tubs. Rates are appealing during high season, but during the off season this is one of the best value resorts in Phuket.

What the reviews say
Reviews for the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa are generally excellent, with the vast majority being 5 out of 5 stars. Most guests were impressed with everything from the large rooms to the quiet beach to the excellent service. There is high praise for the great number of options available at this large resort, including a baby elephant in residence.
The few complaints are quite minor for the most part. Some guests are surprised by the fact that it’s an hour by taxi to get to the craziness of Patong Beach, but if that’s where you want to go this wouldn’t be a good choice. Some others mention that food in the restaurants is more expensive than they expected, but again, one shouldn’t really expect cheap meals at a 5-star beach resort.
